Recovery run
Well, last Wednesday, I walked 5 kms, and did 8 controls. So the plan for this week was to do a short running course (course D, 7 controls) of around 4-5kms, start off walking, then ease into running as the knee warmed up. But as with all good plans... it didn't quite work out that way. I'd already done a warmup, trotting over to the shopping centre to use the toilets. So I started my run by walking. Then a slow run, then up to normal pace. Felt pretty good. With 2 controls left to go, I checked my watch. 13 minutes! I'd actually been running quite well, and I wondered if I'd get home in under 20 minutes. As I upped the pace a bit(!) I wondered if I'd actually come in first (so much for taking it easy). Delusions of grandeur here... then remembered why I was doing D course in the first place, and slowed down. 3.7 kms in exactly 20 minutes.
